Sony confirms creation of PSP online store

During the Gamer's Day event held in the U.S. this week, Sony confirmed that is looking to provide PSP owners an online store. Currently, you can only get access to the PlayStation Store through a PS3, but it looks like Sony has finally woken up and realized not all PSP owners also own a PS3.

SCEA President, Jack Tretton, had the following to say on the matter:
I think the advent of a long awaited and quite frankly long overdue ability to deliver a downloadable service for the PSP will help us out a great deal.
